However, the traditional label "Silicon Desert" no longer fully represents the region's vibrancy, sustainability, and innovation. The "Chip In for Arizona" competition invites students to create a fresh, compelling brand that embodies Arizona’s achievements and future aspirations in the semiconductor field.

Eligibility and Participation
Who Can Participate
- Age Requirement:
- Participants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry.
- Enrollment Status:
- Open to students enrolled part-time or full-time at accredited higher education institutions in Arizona, including technical schools, colleges, and graduate programs.
- Residency and Compliance:
- Participants must not be residents or nationals of countries under U.S. embargo or sanctions and must not appear on any U.S. government restricted party lists.
- The competition is void where prohibited by law.
Team Composition
- Individual or Team Entries:
- Compete individually or in teams of up to four (4) members.
- Team members can be from different institutions and academic disciplines.
Submission Limitations
- Single Entry Rule:
- Each participant may submit only one (1) entry.
- Participants cannot submit entries as part of multiple teams.
- Exclusions:
- Employees, officers, and directors of the Sponsor or its affiliates, and their immediate family and household members, are not eligible.
Attendance Requirement
- Mandatory Presence at Prize Event:
- Finalists must attend and present their entry in person at the SEMI Arizona Chapter Breakfast Forum on April 30, 2025, in Phoenix, AZ.
- Failure to attend may result in disqualification.

Judging Process
Step 1: Initial Review
- Administrative Check:
- Verification of eligibility and compliance.
- Ensuring required components are included.
Step 2: Evaluation by Judging Panel
- Composition: At least seven (7) members from industry leaders and possibly government officials.
- Scoring: Independent evaluation using the criteria.
- Selection of Finalists: Top three (3) submissions with the highest scores.
Step 3: Finalist Notification
- Notification Method: Via mail, email, or telephone.
- Response Requirement: Confirm participation within ten (10) calendar days.
Step 4: Preparation for Final Presentation
- Mentorship: Personalized support to refine presentations.
- Presentation Guidelines: Detailed instructions provided.
Step 5: Final Presentation Event
