Katie Angotti is the Autonomous Vehicle Lead for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) where she shapes local, state, and federal automated vehicle legislation, regulations and planning initiatives for the City. Katie previously served as the Director of State and Federal Legislative Affairs for the San Francisco Mayor’s Office where she managed the Mayor’s legislative portfolio in support of Citywide operations. In this capacity, Katie was responsible for successfully advancing multiple legislative, regulatory and budgetary initiatives including securing $500 million for statewide homelessness aid and shepherding key pieces of legislation related to housing, homelessness, economic development, public health, transportation and infrastructure across the Governor’s desk. While at the Mayor’s office, Katie brought together automated driving system (ADS) industry representatives and the City’s public safety leaders and policy makers to initiate dialogue around ADS and first responder safety. Katie worked as a Senior Government Affairs Analyst at the SFMTA and as a Principal Policy Analyst in the City’s Budget and Legislative Analyst’s Office. She started her transportation policy career at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Authority and earned her Master of Public Policy at UCLA.
