Ph.D., CEO, Helm.ai
Vlad Voroninski is an applied mathematician, AI researcher, and entrepreneur, with fourteen years of R&D experience in algorithmic development. His Ph.D. thesis in mathematics at UC Berkeley made fundamental algorithmic contributions to phase retrieval and quantum tomography, causing these topics to become an intensive focus of study in the applied math community. For this work, he received several awards, including the university wide award for best-applied math thesis award from UC Berkeley and the SIAM Outstanding Paper Prize awarded to 3 out of 3000 papers for ”work that brings a fresh look at an existing field or that open up new areas of applied mathematics”. He was previously on the faculty at MIT and has solved open problems in optimization, quantum mechanics, deep learning and computer vision, publishing in prestigious math journals and top computer vision, and machine learning conferences such as ECCV, NIPS, and COLT. He served as Chief Scientist at Sift Security (acquired by Netskope), a cybersecurity machine learning startup, before co-founding Helm.ai.
