As Director Sustainability Innovation, Nicola collaborates with teams across VMware to develop value-added technology innovations that enable sustainability co-benefits (e.g., energy and carbon reduction) by minimizing customers’ digital infrastructure thereby achieving global-scale impact across VMware’s worldwide customer base. 

Nicola’s role at VMware is the culmination of a 25-year career in the high-tech industry (Akamai Technologies, TRW, Air Products & Chemicals) and academic training in engineering (Chemical Engineering/Computer Science Manhattan College) and environmental engineering science (Ph.D. Caltech) that has evolved her belief that we can make the fastest progress addressing the world’s most urgent sustainability issues when sustainability and business value are aligned. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Renewable Energy Buyers’ Alliance and is a regular speaker at sustainability and data center technology events. Previously she served on the Caltech Alumni Board from 2012-2016.
