The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently finalized new strategies to dramatically expand the agency’s application of five emerging science and technology focus areas — NOAA Artificial Intelligence, Unmanned Systems, ‘Omics, Data and the Cloud — to drive innovation and guide transformative advancements in the quality and timeliness of NOAA science, products and services.  These science and technology strategies will accelerate NOAA’s top two priorities to (1) regain world leadership in global weather modeling, and (2) sustainably grow the economic contributions of our oceans, coasts, and Great Lakes (American Blue Economy).  This talk will provide an overview of the science and technology strategies with an emphasis on artificial intelligence and ocean mapping.
