Norm Armour currently serves as the Managing Director for Worldwide Facilities and EHS at Micron Technology. This group focuses on achieving “best in class” Facilities, EHS, and Sustainability metrics and constructing new Fabs for the corporation. Norm joined Micron during October 2015.
Prior to joining Micron, Norm worked at Western Digital as the VP of Magnetic Heads and later VP of Manufacturing Technology for a total of 2.5 years. Norm worked in the solar industry as VP of Global Manufacturing at Alta Devices for 2 years and for 31 years in the semiconductor industry including General Manager/VP and Fab Operations executive roles at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, LSI, and AMD. This included multiple green field projects that ramped to high volume and achieved best-in-class metrics for cycle time, yield/defect density, and die cost. Norm also served as Vice President of Corporate Asset Services and Fab Consulting at Applied Materials. Previously Armour served as Director of Operations at Applied Magnetics, and Engineering Manager at Unisys (formerly Sperry) and RCA Solid State Division. He has a Process and Device engineering background and has worked as a process engineer/section manager in PVD, Diffusion, CVD/PECVD, Ion Implantation, Device Engineering, and Process Integration.
Armour holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
