West 2007. For the average exhibitor the show is
over, however the successful exhibitor realizes they are
in the most critical phase of the show. If you are ever
going to produce a return on your exhibiting investment,

When will I receive my SmartBooth™
portal User ID and password for SEMICON West
2008?
The SEMICON West 2008 SmartBooth
Exhibitor portal is scheduled to launch in February
2008. Exhibitors will receive a separate
email from SEMI and BD Metrics detailing the SmartBooth
process as well as the user id and password information
to access the SmartBooth portal.
In
the meantime, if you were an exhibitor at SEMICON West
2007, your SmartBooth exhibitor portal is still
available through January of 2008. Log on and keep
your company profile current, so that the SEMICON West
visitor community can still reach out to you through
SEMICONNECT.
FAIRGuide—Beware
Please be aware that an Austrian publishing
company called Construct Data Verlag AG (aka
“Fair Guide”), has repeatedly solicited
directory listing information from our exhibitors. The
company uses an extremely misleading form inviting
exhibitors to sign and return the document for an entry
in an online directory. Doing so contracts the
exhibitor into a three-year, non-retractable agreement
totaling nearly US$4,600.
Please be aware that this is NOT related to the
SEMICON West 2008 Event Directory and this company does
not represent SEMI in any manner. If you receive a form
from this company, please ignore it. For more
information about this scam, go to Austrian
Exhibitor Warning.
Please also note that throughout the year, you
may receive other similarly misleading solicitations
from other companies (travel and accommodation services,
shipping brokers and affiliates, etc.) attempting to
portray themselves as official services or contractors
for our event. In order to avoid any unpleasant
surprises, we encourage you to please familiarize
yourself with official SEMICON West contractors, listed
in the Exhibitor Resource & Update section of the SEMICON West
website at www.semiconwest.org.
Help us keep your fellow exhibitors aware
of similar activities by informing us of any companies
that approach you for services other than the official
show contractors.

For
your convenience, booth space confirmation letters will
once again be emailed to all exhibitors next week for
verification. Please review the information and pay
special attention to the booth location, booth space
restrictions, and special comments noted to your
booth. Links to an interactive
floorplan as well as printable
pdf files will be included in the email and are also
available on the SEMICON West website for your
reference. Should you see any discrepancies in your
contact or booth space information, or you do not

Exhibitor Housing will Open in
November
MARK
YOUR CALENDARS NOW! Exhibitor housing will officially
open at 9:00 am (Pacific Standard Time) on Thursday,
November 1, 2007.
SEMI
is pleased to continue its partnership with San
Francisco-based Convention Management Resources, Inc.
(CMR) as the official housing provider for SEMICON West
2008, offering guaranteed lowest rates and special
booking incentives. More detailed information will be
available in the October Exhibitor Update, such as the
updated hotel list, the list of amenities exclusive to
SEMICON West participants, as well as a preview of the
site layout. Please note that any housing
requests received prior to 9:00 am (PST) November 1,
2007 will not be
