More Lumens per Dollar: Issues and Answers to Bring Costs Down to Create a General Lighting Market

Wednesday, July 13
10:30am–4:30pm

South Hall, Moscone Center

  Session Sponsor

Description The big growth projected for the HB LED market depends on major progress in the technology to push performance up and costs down, to generate strong growth of general lighting to make up for the maturing market for LED backlights leveling off over the next few years. Market analysts’ differing views of the state of this progress means projections for the market for packaged devices in 2015 vary anywhere from $13 to $25 billion. SEMI programs uniquely focus on the practical manufacturing technology on which this all depends. Leaders will report on progress and next challenges across key areas including substrates, epitaxy, metrology, thermal management, phosphors and light extraction. This year we again offer a whole day of sessions with the companies driving this innovation.
